"Since childhood I have battled with Major Depression (MDD) and anxiety which, as a young adult, only got progressively worse. My condition was greatly compounded by Post Natal Depression (PND) after having each of my three babies. In the past, after my first two pregnancies, I relied on psychotherapy and very heavy medications to bring my mind and body back to balance. After the birth of my third baby, I desperately wanted to avoid the heavy medications due to their various side effects. I tried a variety of holistic treatments before I stumbled on one of Jonathans ads for his clinic. Having heard wonderful things about acupuncture from friends who had gone and had treatments for fertility, cancer pain management, mood disorders, and a variety of other reasons, I was really excited to give it a go. I noticed significant results after just the first session, and each following session only got better and better. My moods stabilized more quickly than they had in the past with medications and my energy levels also got a great boost. Whats more is the effects have been long lasting. I truly and honestly attribute my fast psychological healing to acupuncture and the wonderful job that Jonathan did. I couldnt possibly express how grateful I am for acupuncture giving me back my life and my husband and children back their wife and mother. Its like a breath of fresh air being able to finally feel like myself once again. I would absolutely recommend acupuncture to anyone suffering from any sort of mood disorder as a compliment to all their other efforts towards improving their mental health. It really works. "
RF - DundalkStress, Anxiety and Depression is one of the most common conditions I treat in clinic and Acupuncture combined with Diet and Lifestyle changes produce very positive results.
Depression and Anxiety are two of the most common diseases I treat in Clinic. Some estimates state that about 20% of people will suffer a major episode of depression during their life. The western antidepressant drugs can be beneficial by focusing on maintaining the serotonin levels in the brain. But, in addition to the side effects, the patients need to take them all the time. Acupuncture, combined with diet and life style changes, can be a very effective alternative to treat depression and anxiety, resulting in long-term benefits. For mild forms of depression and anxiety, our success rate is encouraging. For more severe problems, Western Medicine appears to work better. When patients with depression receive acupuncture, they generally experience improvement in the reduction of anxiety, insomnia, as well as more energy, and over all well-being. Best of all there is no side effect from acupuncture treatments.
The inability to sleep properly is one of the worst maladies that a patient can suffer. Insomnia makes everything worse: pain, anxiety, digestive disorders and a host of other problems. In our clinic, we treat insomnia using Acupuncture. In Chinese Medicine, insomnia is just a sign of lack of health and function. By restoring the patient to normal function the insomnia goes away. From our point of view, insomnia drugs do not restore a patient to normal function. They are largely used to subdue the symptom without any regard for the overall health of the individual. In Chinese Medicine, insomnia is usually a dysfunction in the heart or liver. If blood flow to the heart is slightly diminished the patient will have a hard time falling asleep. If the liver is inflamed or sluggish the patient will wake up a number of times at night. Both of these etiologies are treated very well using Acupuncture along with proper diet and lifestyle changes.
Stress and Tension are major reasons for health problems. The mental strain and anxiety of our modern lifestyle often leads to headaches, insomnia, muscle tension, panic attacks, palpitations, weight gain, digestive disorders and countless other problems.
Acupuncture is especially effective at treating all of these problems because of its profound effect of regulating the way the body responds to stress.
Acupuncture calms and regulates the sympathetic nervous system and causes the body to release chemicals like endorphins that produce a profound sense of calm and contentment.
Acupuncture doesn't simply mask the symptoms but each treatment should see a gradual return to health.
